In Protaras, next to the sea, there is a beautiful white and blue Greek Orthodox church. This is where Anna and Rob had an intimate Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony with their family.

“No question—our photographer, Susannah Nicolaou, was the best investment we made. The way she captured the day was beyond anything we imagined. We’re still finding new favourite shots. It’s like reliving the whole thing, frame by frame.”

We met Rob holding a bouquet outside the church, as is the Cypriot wedding tradition.

At that time of night, Agios Nikolas church in Protaras doesn’t have the sun flares of a golden hour because of where the sun sets. Instead, the sky is filled with beautiful pink, purple and blue hues. We took time to have a couple portrait session before the ceremony.

We took some family portraits and had plenty of time for capturing many candid moments.

The small church was dimly lit and beautiful inside. The ceremony was performed in both Greek and English. It encorporated the beautiful traditons of an orthodox wedding ceemony including exchanging stefanas and the dance of Isaiah.

After the ceremony, we took another short time together to capture some couple portraits with flash. My couple portrait sessions are short, maybe 10 minutes, but I like to do at least two different times. The light is different and your emotions are different. It gives variety and depth to the images of the two of you.
